Vendor Event Success!

This week I hosted my first vendor event at the local school bus garage.  The Utica Community Schools bus garage has over 240 employees that drive students to and from schools daily.  During the day, these drivers arrive and leave from 5:30am to 5:00pm.  The busiest time for the bus garage is from 8:00am to 1:30pm when most drivers are arriving back from morning runs, going home, and returning for afternoon runs.  This was the time that I made myself available to provide Younique product samples, demonstrations, and sales.

I set my vendor table up in the cafeteria where all the drivers go to clock in and out to work.  I was nervous at first, but once people began to peruse the cosmetics that I was offering I hit my stride.  Quite a few drivers were very interested in the Younique product line, some had never heard of it, and others had friends that use it and knew about its many benefits.  Many drivers sampled the cosmetics and showed interest in purchasing products.

Overall the event went well.  I was able to show the Younique product line to over 200 perspective clients, drummed up interest, and even made a few sales.  I knew going into this event I didn’t have many items on hand to sell, but I was more interested in establishing the brand with this group first. I have set-up a second date in early December to revisit this group and I will have a nice selection of cosmetics ready for customers to purchase on-site.  I am looking forward to my hard work paying off!

Younique Presenter Challenges

After becoming familiar with the Younique product line and joining the Younique family through Facebook, I decided to participate in one of the many presenter challenges that are frequently offered.  These challenges require tasks to be completed, and a random person will win a gift out of all the presenters that complete the challenge.  Of course, the challenge I ended up accepting was one of the hardest and most involved challenges that I have seen since I have joined Younique.

This challenge had five separate tasks to complete, and only a couple days to complete each task.

Task #1 involved watching a 25 minute live facebook video on how to begin obtaining sponsors and successfully building your Younique team.  After watching the video, I needed to utilize what I have learned to reach out to five people about joining my team.  This task was time consuming but not very hard.

Task #2 required me to view a 15 minute video from one of the Younique elite presenters on why she joined Younique.  At the end of the video, the presenter gave instructions on posting a live facebook video on why I joined Younique.  This task pulled me out of my comfort zone. I am an introvert and this task required me to be on camera and talk about myself…not my strong suit!  Overall, I was nervous but worked through it and turned in my task.

Task #3 was easy and fun!  I had to create a post comparing the presenter’s kit to purchasing items that are included in the kit. This post wrote itself because the kit provides so many value items and samples of the complete cosmetics line.

I had to download the book “Sponsoring Magic” from Amazon or any other source for Task #4.  Easiest task by far; opened my kindle app, searched for it, and with a single click I downloaded it. Task complete! Now I just need to find time to read it.

The final task required me to reach out to 20 people that I haven’t talked with in quite some time.  I wasn’t allowed to talk about Younique, the goal was to try to rekindle relationships with lost friends.  This was another time consuming and difficult task.  Thinking about what to talk about with 20 different people was trying, but I worked through it and reconnected with some friends!

Well, all of my hard work has paid off!  I was informed today that I was picked out of all of the presenters that completed this challenge.  I was blown away and totally excited!  I never win anything and I have won the first challenge I entered.  Now I am patiently waiting to find out what exactly I have won…stay tuned!

Hosting My First Younique Party

This past Saturday, I hosted my first Younique party at my home.  I was both excited and nervous about the event and how I would do.  Even though I invited over 15 prospective clients through friends and family members, only three came to my party.  I was obviously hoping to be able to share and demonstrate the Younique cosmetics product line to more people, but chose to focus my efforts on the ones that did participate.

I prepared for this party all week, studying the product line features, benefits, and uses.  I also practiced application techniques with the products, so that I could demonstrate them to the participants flawlessly.  I was very excited for them to be able to test these products because they had never heard of this company before and I knew they would appreciate the products’ benefits and quality.

Before the guests arrived, my sponsor coached me on how to run the party, gave me suggestions on product highlights, and helped boost my confidence in presenting.  Even though I was nervous about speaking to the guests, I felt very comfortable talking about the products and demonstrating them.

Overall, I felt my first Younique party was a success!  I gained a tremendous amount of confidence, received lots of helpful feedback, and was proud of my choice to join the Younique family!
